Home Remedies to stop Vomiting

Vomiting is medically known as emesis and colloquially as throwing up. It is an activity of reflex that refers to the forceful expulsion of contents in the stomach. The actual act of vomiting is to remove toxic substances from the stomach after ingestion.

Home Remedies to stop Vomiting

Cardamom Powder

Take 2 tbsp of cardamom powder and add a tbsp of honey to be taken often.
Mint Tea

Mint tea gives relief from vomiting.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is another effective home remedy for vomiting. Make a mixture of 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, half teaspoon of sugar, a pinch of baking soda, and water, stir well all these ingredients and drink it. This will immediately give relief from vomiting.


Ginger is good for digestive system and helps blocking unessential secretion inside the stomach that causes vomiting. So whenever you have a pre-signs of vomiting sensation, have some ginger tea with or without a little sugar. 

Rice Water

Rice water helps in reducing vomiting if it is caused due to gastritis.


Cloves have got antiseptic and anesthetic components that help in digestion and can cure vomiting too. Try to chew some raw cloves or make a tea with this and drink. Another way of using cloves is by swallowing a powder of fried cloves and honey. 


The medicinal properties of aniseeds cure vomiting. Simply chew aniseed for immediate relief from vomiting
