Home Remedies for Urine Infection

Yogurt

People suffering with frequent and recurrent UTI can get benefitted a lot by using yogurt. The lactobacilli-bacteria that are present in the yogurt are believed to reduce the reoccurrence of urine infection.

Water

Drinking water more often than usual can help increase the frequency of urination, and thereby flush away the infection causing bacteria with every visit to the washroom and delay their breeding.

Vitamin C

People suffering from frequent and recurrent urinary tract infections can try vitamin C supplements such as foods rich in vitamin C like amla, lemon, and oranges to their diet. Vitamin C creates an acidic environment in the urinary tract and bladder that doesn’t allow harmful bacteria to enter. Most of the doctors prescribe 5,000mg of vitamin C supplement a day in patients having recurrent urinary tract infection.

Vinegar

Vinegar is believed to have the ability to cure frequent UTIs. This  works by alkalinizing the environment of urinary tract and bladder by making the pH intolerable for bacteria to breed in. Add few teaspoons of vinegar to a glass of warm water and drink it.

Baking Soda

Mix 1teaspoon of baking soda to a cup of cold water and drink it. It works like a magic.
