Home Remedies For Jaundice

Home Remedies for Jaundice

Jaundice is the condition of yellowish discoloration of the eyes and skin. This is caused by a build-up of a matter called Bilirubin. In many people, yellowness in the white part of the eyes is seen more than in the skin. Jaundice in newborn babies is more common as it takes time for their livers to start working properly.

There are three types of jaundice that affects adults:
  1.  Hemolytic jaundice
  2.  Hepatocellular jaundice and
  3.  Obstructive jaundice

Causes of Jaundice

The red blood cells (RBC) after a period of four months become fragile and a yellow like substance called Bilirubin. Human body usually removes bilirubin from the bloodstreams by passing it via the liver and kidneys for disposal. The liver that plays an important role in removing the bilirubin from the body may not be able to function so for some reasons, and the bilirubin gets accumulated and causes jaundice.
