Natural Home Remedies for Diarrhea

Diarrhea is the condition of passing frequent and watery stools that occurs when the bowels are loose. Some of the symptoms that are felt during diarrhea are pain in the abdomen, high temperature, nausea, and loss of appetite. Diarrhea can be either short term (acute) or long term (chronic) that stays for more than two weeks.

Causes of Diarrhea
  1. Infection caused by bacteria or virus
  2. Contaminated food 
  3. Contaminated water
  4. Anxiety or stress
  5. Drinking too much liquor
  6. Side effect due to some drugs.
Home Remedies for Diarrhea


Take a ripe banana and mash it and mix with 1 teaspoon of tamarind pulp and a pinch of salt. Take this mixture 2 times a day.

Drink a cup of black tea and/or coffee. This is very effective in controlling diarrhea.

Powder 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom seeds and boil this in tea water by adding a bit of sugar for taste and drink it.

Soak 2 to 3 teaspoons of coriander seeds overnight in a ½ cup of water and make a paste and mix in a glass of butter milk and drink it.

Take 10-15 curry leaves and make a paste out of it mixed with a teaspoon of honey and consume it.

Take one ripe banana and mix with 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder and eat.

Mix a teaspoon of date paste with one teaspoon of honey to be taken 4 to 5 times a day.

Mix one cup of pomegranate juice with one cup of sugar cane juice and have it four times a day. 

Dink 1 cup of Pomegranate juice 3 to 4 times a day.
