Diabetes is a disorder marked by excess amount of blood sugar or blood glucose. This occurs due to the lack of hormone insulin in the body. There are two types of diabetes: 
 
Type 1 Diabetes:  Type 1 diabetes is also known as insulin dependent diabetes, which usually affects children and teenagers.
 
Type 2 diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is also called non-insulin dependent diabetes, which usually affects adults. If this is left untreated, high levels of glucose can damage blood vessels, putting great health problems in the long run.

Boil 10-15 fresh mango leaves in a glass of water and leave it overnight. Filter this water and consume it first thing in the morning. Tender mango leaves are said to be very effective in treating diabetes.
 


Take 2 tbs of basil leaves (tulsi) juice extracted from basil leaves and drink this juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.


 
Jambul or Indian blackberry is said to be an effective medicine in treating diabetes. The berrier, seeds, and leaves of the Indian blackberry plant help in balancing the blood glucose levels and prevent insulin rises. Make a powder of the dried seeds or leaves and drink it twice a day with water.



Drinking a cup of green tea on an empty stomach daily in the morning before breakfast is good for overall health. Green tea has a strong antioxidant compound, which helps in reducing the insulin blood sugar levels in the body.



The Vitamin C presented in the Indian Gooseberry or Amla promotes proper functioning of the pancreas. Extract juice from the Amla fruit and take two teaspoons of the juice mixed with water. Drink this mixture daily on an empty stomach in the morning to keep your blood sugar levels in control.

Following a healthy diet comprised of vitamins and minerals such as apples, berries, apricots, carrots, beetroot, and bitter gourd is important for keeping you healthy and for balancing blood sugar levels.



Drumstick leaves that are high in fiber content are best known for their ability to boost energy. These leaves increase the feeling of fullness and help in slowing down the breakdown of food and lowering blood pressure.



Fenugreek seeds are rich in fiber that is useful for controlling diabetes. These seeds can be soaked in water overnight to take it early in the morning before breakfast. The seeds can be taken in the form of powder or mixed with milk, which increases the secretion of glucose-dependent insulin. To control blood sugar levels, try to repeat this method daily for few months.
